Continuous improvement - maintaining best practices
User experience continuous improvement is essential to maintaining best practices. When reviewing and analysing current state I am constantly looking for areas to tidy and improve. Especially the small things that can be easily done but can make a big difference. Not all improvements need to be scoped as a big project.
By staying attuned to user feedback, conducting usability testing, embracing iterative design, and leveraging data-driven insights, it really helps to create products and services that deliver exceptional user experiences and stay competitive in the fast-paced digital landscape.
Below example one and two are some continuous improvement work that was conducted as part of the Auckland Council’s Web Replatform project stream.
Example three are wireframes to improve the customer journey for the Flood Viewer developed for an Auckland Council app utilising GIS maps.
Why have multiple components when it could be one! Example of two components that were redesigned to eliminate multiple components while maintaing the flexibility be used across different scenarios, platforms and digtial products.
Classic example of a simple change but makes big differerence. Let's get rid of all the variations of these colours used across a number of sites. Standardise meaning and purpose - bringing it back to basics. Achieving a more consisten and clearer visual communication.
